Beautiful and perfect for the theme. How on earth did you achieve that wonderful effect? Did it involve mirrors?

this is a 5 foot long piece of pullchain (used in hanging light fixtures), laid back and forth so that there are many rows. the minimal depth of field keeps only the first row in focus. the glare off the round segments to the rear is diffracted by the iris of the lens at 5.6 and as you go further back, the glare overlaps.
it took a bit of fiddling with my lights to get the glare to where i wanted it.

excellent idea and wonderfully shot. the focus and lighting retracts perfectly into the distance. it appears to go up at an incline as you move back. very nice.

i actually shot a whole series of these about a month ago and filed some away as “possibles”. i’ve been laid low by a heavy cold for the past week and haven’t shot much (headaches, coughs, and sneezes don’t go well with viewfinders, lenses, and macro shooting) but when Macroday posted “round” these came to mind right away. i’ll post some more soon.
